Pilates has numerous significant benefits, such as improving respiratory function, reducing stress and blood pressure, and improving concentration and oxygen circulation in the body. What is more, pilates can boost feel-good hormones, like dopamine and serotonin, thus increasing feelings of well-being and happiness!

Especially people with lung cancer can benefit from pilates exercises that help reduce shortness of breath, while those who experience pain or musculoskeletal problems due to treatments, can benefit from the lateral breathing exercises and functional use of the diaphragm to open the entire chest and improve their posture. The exercises are of mild intensity as the aim is to calm and at the same time strengthen the body, in order to help them improve their ability to cope with everyday activities.

Just Pilates Studio offers free online pilates classes every Thursday 11:00am – 12:00pm for patients and their caregivers.
